Tuesday 27th October was a very proud day for Michael Bond and his family when he went to Buckingham Palace to receive his CBE for Services to Children’s Literature.
The investiture was conducted by His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge who reminded Mr Bond that he had met Paddington at the Chinese premiere of the film in Shanghai earlier this year.
The news of the honour delighted Paddington’s many fans who swamped social media channels with comments such as
“Congratulations Mr. Bond; you truly deserve this honour for all the joy you have brought to millions of children and adults!” and “I love Paddington and I am glad he has shared my life. Thank you Mr. Bond and Congratulations!”.
